About Cafe OrsoInterior of Cafe Orso

I visited Cafe Orso on a sunny day in September. It was a Friday and I abandoned my packed lunch at the office to grab lunch with two of my coworkers. Surprisingly I’ve lived in North Vancouver for years and never have I once been in here. The interior is beautiful, and the day I visited the sun shone through the giant windows that fill the front wall. The best way I can describe the interior is that it looks like a modern, minimalist lumberjack decorated the place. There are branch chandeliers that hang from the ceiling, chalkboard menus, wood tables, and a giant bear picture hanging on the wall.

Delicious coffee at Cafe Orso

The Coffee

Initially I wasn’t planning on getting coffee with lunch, but when I saw they use 49th Parallel  coffee I had to get myself a latte. It was an excellent decision. Not only was the presentation good, they pulled a good shot of espresso.

The Food

For lunch I went with the Veggie Meze, it was good but a little on the salty side for my tastes. However the presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful (as you can see  in the photo). It consisted of bread, hummus, olives,  roasted red peppers, and other seasonal veggies. It definitely filled me up, I did not end up finishing all of it!The Veggie Meze at Cafe Orso Additionally the food was super rich and if I get it again I will be splitting it with someone!
Unfortunately that much rich food made me feel off for a bit in the afternoon. However it was still delicious, and the cafe itself is lovely.
This Deep Cove gem would be a great place to visit after hiking Quarry Rock or kayaking up Indian Arm!
